-The Northeast experiences 4 distinct seasons. It can get very hot in the summer and very cold in the winter.
-One of the biggest attractions in the Northeast is the beautiful colored leaves in the fall.
-Since the Northeast is close to the ocean and gets lots of precipitation, it is a prime location for trees to grow. The forest in the Northeast consist of both broadleaf and needleleaf trees.
-Fishing is another huge industry in the Northeast region.

-It is divided into 2 groups of states--the New England states and the Middle Atlantic states.
-The Appalachian Mountains can be found in almost every state in the Northeast region.
-The Northeast region is also home to the Appalachian Trail, which is the longest marked footpath in the world.
-The Northeast has many rivers and waterfalls. In the late 1700s, people began building factories and mills that used machines that ran on power from running water. These machines allowed the factories to make more products in a short amount of time. This led to the Industrial Revolution.
